Confirmed sighting: Bob The Builder's Cheesy Toolbag
Posted: 20:20 Mon 07-04-2003. Location: Dorset & Kilburn. Sub-flavours: Onion / Prawn Cocktail. Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
Stacy Williams
reports: "Strange but truely named. Found a multipack of Bob The Builder crisps in London. The corn snacks are tool shaped (spanners etc) and have a similar consistancy to Space Raiders. Cheese flavour was pretty good and the onion
variety were a bit like stodgier Mills onion rings and very smelly." OK, this may not be the newest snack on the block, but it's still rare enough to deserve a mention (Stacy didn't provide a pic, so this is an attempt to "enhance" the one found here, like it was grainy footage of the Loch Ness Monster or something). Of course, the "Cheesy
Tool Bag" is also notable for setting a new standard in product names which
really sound like they ought to be double-entendres, a field previously dominated by the likes of Winnie The Pooh's "Roo Juice" and Mr Funny's Runny Honey.

Comment: Mr Funny's Runny Honey improved on old *unfunny* runny honey by adding
the great extra taste of orange, blackcurrant, or
strawberry. What next - Mr Bump's Mumpy Lumps?

Comment: Great news - the Kentish Town Costcutter on Prince of Wales Road (London NW6) stocks not just individual bags of Bob's Cheesy Toolbag, but also the other flavours - Bob's Pickled Onion Toolbag and Bob's Prawn Cocktail Toolbag - in the range.

Comment: Disappointed to discover that the Tesco Extra near Beckton has a censored version of this flavour in the multi-pack. Now merely called 'Bob's Cheesy', along with all the other toolbag-named flavours.

Comment: Anyone wishing to sample Bob's Cheesey Toolbag should try the Lincolnshire Echo newsagents on Wragby Road, Lincoln, right next to Tesco.
They are in fact a fine purveyor of the 10p crisp range, and their repertiore often includes Tangy Toms (which in the golden days were 5p, but are now 10p), Cheesey Nibbles, Oinks, Petrified Prawns (their petrified-ness runs only as far as the illustration on the packet), and of course the aforementioned Bob's Cheesey Toolbag. I do not recall there being any Transform-A-Snack, though.
