Confirmed sighting: Nestle Aero Instant Bubbly Hot Chocolate Drink
Posted: 22:03 Mon 20-Mar-2006. Price: £1.89 for 8 sachets. Location: Morrisons. Sub-flavours: Chocolate (tested); Mint Chocolate. Nutritional unusualness: 99 calories per serving, apparently.
"Phillerena" reports: Found this new Aero Hot Chocolate in Morrisons. You get 8 sachets per box. It's meant to be a "bubbly" hot chocolate drink and says things like "stir well to release the bubbles" and "watch the bubbles grow and enjoy your deliciously bubbly drink". Is there some strange science I don't know about here? Anyhow the hot chocolate is very nice - frothy and chocolatey, but no better than any other brand. Hopefully they will do a mint or Sticky Toffee version.
..."Phillerena" seems to be getting over the Aero Chocolate Truffle fiasco, to the extent of also submitting a pic for Nestle Aero Orange Delight (£1.22, Morrisons), and conceding: OK so there is already a review of this but I thought I'd provide a picture too. Nestle got rid of the small Aero orange bars last year when they revamped the Aero range, yet strangely it has returned in a large 150g bar. It tastes pretty much the same as I remember, but slightly nicer. A lighter orange taste than Terry's. The front of the pack tells us that there are 211 cals per quarter of the bar. The back tells us that it's good to remember that "enjoying chocolate as part of a balanced diet is one of life's little pleasures". This bar is much nicer than the Irish Cream one that it has replaced.

Comment: This has been around for a few months in wholesalers now, although it might be new to supermarkets.
It's selling *very* well.

Comment: Found the mint one now from Morrisons. Much nicer than the milk choc flavour but the mint flavour is a tad too weak for me.

Comment: Bubbly? What sort of drink is that?
Ps. Haven't even heard about it.
Have a feeling that the chocolate is gonna taste like plastic if its being produced in NZ.

Comment: Aero Chocolate drink is real nice, BUT it may be just me, but the few times I've had it (and from different batches), my mouth and throat felt really dry. And I mean REAL dry: Like I'd had a big dose of Sudafed. God alone knows what's in it. Its nice and creamy - just right, but I couldn't face any more with that after effect.

Comment: That hot chocolate is the nicest I've had in a long time. I ended up here because I'm searching the web for it. We've only been able to buy it with Nescafe coffee, the aero hot chocolate comes free with the coffee.

Comment: Wow wow and WOW!!
That's like the best hot chocolate ever! If I buy the stuff I don't just want the satchets! I want a whole tub! It's chocolatey, creamy and frothy! (but not too frothy) Hmm! Tell me where I can buy the tub please!
(BTW, I'll have you know NZ chocolate does NOT taste like plastic!)

Posted: 13:14 Tue 05-Sep-2006 by "Phillerena"

Comment: Erm I'm not sure. I've seen it in Morrisons, I think there's a hazelnut flavour. The Mocha and Cappuccino are something different altogether, they're sachets that come in boxes where you just add hot water for a frothy coffee drink.

Comment: Yes, me too. The Cadbury instant hot chocolate is the same, but Galaxy is hydrogenated-oil-free! Better still is to buy Cadbury's drinking chocolate and make it like your supposed to with warm milk. You really can't beat proper hot chocolate made with milk - far better than the instant just-add-water stuff. Although, if you have enough time, even better is to melt a block of milk chocolate, add a drop of vanilla essence and gradually stir in hot milk. This is a really luxurious (if somewhat high calorie!) way to have your hot chocolate. Mmmm...
