Confirmed sighting: Fabulous Fruit Juice Co juice drinks
Posted: 16:34 Thu 18-May-2006. Price: £1.19-£1.49/ 500ml. Location: "Baker Street tube" [see below]. Sub-flavours: Orange; Apple; Blueberry and Raspberry; Mandarin and Pomegranate; Orange and Mango; Guava and Lime. Nutritional unusualness: (Mandarin and Pomegranate) 30% juice (from concentrate), 11.8g carbohydrate (ie, sugar) per 100ml.
"Manan" reports: Saw these on sale the other day and tried the Mandarin and Pomegranate which tasted - well fabulous!!! Went back and bought the others on the way home, I will post up what I think of them later. Never heard of this brand before.
...I must admit, I didn't spot any evidence of the range when I passed through Baker St recently, though I did spot a few of the "flavours" at Piccadilly Circus ("flavours" in quotes because, in my opinion, the Mandarin and Pomegranate variety - 1% pomegranate juice - noticeably failed to taste of either). In other fruity tipples: it looks like AG Barr heeded some of our comments on
St Clements Squeeze with their new still packed full of "fruit goodness" 500ml St Clements Originals Fruits (in Blackcurrant, Apple and Blueberry; Citrus; or Strawberry and Lime); according to The Grocer magazine, I Am Fresh is a range of "100% freshly pressed" smoothies debuting in Waitrose (250ml for £1.95); and New Covent Garden Food Co are returning to
this market sector with Johnsons Real Smoothie, in the form of "fresh fruit with either orange or apple juice whizzed up in a blender to make a finished drink".
