Confirmed sighting: Ferrero Rondnoir
Posted: 22:50 Thu 11-Sep-2008. Price: 99p for 4 (Trial pack). Location: Woolworths, Glasgow. Another two-sightings-for-the-price-of-one from Zeddy, who spotted the slightly sinister-looking Ferrero Rondnoir "in a larger box of mixed Ferrero products at the same time as I noticed this little box of 4. Quite similar to Rocher but dark chocolate with little solid pieces of chocolate inside them as well as the hazelnut paste. Very moreish. I just wish they would relaunch mint Ferreros again."
And for those of you missing Zeddy's usual double-entendres, he also found these Fruit-tella Strawberry Cocktail for 49p in Asda, Hamilton, Scotland, leading him to presume: "I guess these are Van Melle's response to Starburst Twisted. 3 mixed flavours, strawberry with either melon, blackcurrant or lemon. They are pretty good and there is no doubting the melon flavour. I have always thought Fruitella chews were better than Opal Fruits and these do nothing to dispel my opinion. Incidentally, it was the ticket on the counter at the checkout that initially caught my attention - 'Straw Cock'. Now is that a misleading description or what?"
...In other after-dinner extravagances: Ferrero have selected the Budgens in Belsize Park for UK trials of their "palate-cleansing" freeze-them-yourself Gran Desserts - I found the flavours surprisingly strong for the portion size, though assume they're not actually made from "Grans". I've also been slogging through assorted Movenpick ice-creams and Fru fruit trifles when they've been on special offer, though to be honest they're not much more exciting than Nestle Ice Cream Pops (currently £1.24 for 56 pops in Tesco), or the
imminent prospect of
Calippo Fizz and
Smarties Party Ice Cream.

It's just a pity it's only on economy products after Nestle replaced it with their tedious logo on the traditional lines.
